Website Security Review
By Mark McNiel (JohnnyLaw), Around The Block LLC, Stillwater, Oklahoma. Last updated Nov 5, 2026.
I look at your website the way an outsider would. I use the latest available security toolkits to test your public surfaces, then a person goes through every result, removes the noise, and writes up what matters in plain language. If you want deeper, targeted scans, I can do those on request once we agree in writing on exactly what is in scope.
This is a snapshot of your site on the day it was tested. It is not monitoring, and it is not a guarantee that your site is secure.
The short version
- Default reviews look only at what the public can already see: your pages, headers, DNS, certificates, and scripts.
- Testing is passive and non-intrusive unless you ask for more in writing.
- AI-assisted toolkits do the heavy lifting, and the methods may expand or change as better tools arrive. A person reviews every finding before you see it.
- Your report is delivered privately in your own DigiScope account. You never share a password with me.
- Payment is in DigiDollar (DUSD). DigiByte builders pay nothing.
What it costs
| Review | Good for | Price |
|---|---|---|
| Tier A, public surface, small | One domain plus www. A brochure site or small app. No login testing. | 175 DUSD |
| Tier B, public surface, larger | Many subdomains, a larger JavaScript surface, or staging and production sites. | 350 DUSD |
| Tier C, deeper targeted scans | Logged-in or limited active testing, only on written request with signed rules of engagement. | 600 DUSD |
| Re-review | Same scope as your last review, focused on what changed. Renews your badge. | 125 DUSD |
| DigiByte builders | People who publicly maintain a DigiByte project. Same paperwork and checks as paid reviews. | Free |
All prices are in DigiDollar (DUSD) only. Larger or unusual sites get a custom quote.
How it works
- Tell me about your site. You fill out a short intake and confirm in writing that you own the site or are allowed to have it tested.
- Prove you control the domain. You add a DNS TXT record or a small file at a /.well-known path I give you. No testing starts until that checks out.
- I run the review. Current toolkits test your public surfaces under human supervision.
- A person checks the results. False alarms come out. Real issues get a plain explanation and suggested fixes.
- You get your report privately. It appears in your DigiScope account portal.
How your report is delivered
Reports go into the DigiScope account portal that belongs to you. You sign in to your own account to read and download it. I never ask for your password, and you should never send it to me or anyone else. Findings stay confidential and are not shared without your written consent. Secrets are redacted in the report.
The badge
If you want, you can show a dated badge on your site after a review:
Reviewed by AroundTheBlock.Us on [date]
- It says reviewed, never secured. It is not a certification.
- It links to a verification page with the review date, expiry date, and a plain disclaimer.
- It expires 90 days after the review. A re-review renews it.
- I can revoke it if it is misused, and it comes down when it expires.
What is not included
- Continuous monitoring, firewalls, malware cleanup, or incident response.
- Any promise that your site is secure or free of problems.
- Fixing the issues. You get findings and guidance; the fixes are yours unless we agree otherwise.
- Anything that changes your data, denial of service, or social engineering.
- Your host, CDN, or cloud provider, unless you get their permission first.
The fine print
Prices and terms are subject to change.
- Default Services. Unless the parties agree otherwise in writing, the Services consist of testing of Client's public-facing websites and related public surfaces using current AI-assisted toolkits, operated and supervised by a person. The specific tools and methods may expand or change over time. By default, testing is passive and non-intrusive: it is limited to what a normal browser user or public DNS lookup could observe, plus materials Client chooses to provide.
- Active or Targeted Testing. ATB will perform deeper, targeted, or active testing (for example authenticated testing, port scanning, fuzzing, or exploit-style checks) only if Client requests it in writing and the parties sign a written authorization and rules of engagement that name the assets, methods, time window, rate limits, and contacts. ATB will stay within those rules and will stop on Client's request.
- Point-in-Time Review. Each review reflects only the systems, configurations, and content observed on the date or dates tested. The Services are not continuous monitoring, incident response, or ongoing protection. Changes made after the test date are not covered.
- No Warranty. The Services, reports, and any badge are provided "as is." ATB makes no warranty or guarantee, express or implied, that any site is secure, free of defects, or free of vulnerabilities, and disclaims all implied warranties, including merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose. Tools and reviewers can miss issues. Findings are advisory only. Client alone is responsible for deciding whether and how to fix any issue and for all remediation.
- Limitation of Liability. To the fullest extent permitted by law, ATB's total liability arising out of or related to an engagement is limited to the fees Client actually paid ATB for that engagement. For free-tier engagements (including the DigiByte builder tier), no fees are paid, so ATB's liability is $0 to the fullest extent permitted by law. In no event is ATB liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, data, or goodwill, even if advised of their possibility. This section does not limit liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.
- Client Authority and Verification. Before any testing, Client must confirm in writing that it owns, or is authorized by the owner to permit testing of, every asset in scope. ATB will verify control of each domain by a DNS TXT record or a file placed at a /.well-known path that ATB specifies, and will not test until verification succeeds. Client will defend, indemnify, and hold harmless ATB from claims, losses, and costs arising from any misstatement of Client's ownership or authority.
- Third-Party Infrastructure. Client is responsible for obtaining any permission required from its hosting provider, CDN, cloud platform, or other third-party service before testing. Third-party systems are out of scope unless Client provides that provider's written permission or the provider's published terms clearly allow the testing.
- Confidentiality and Data Handling. ATB will treat findings, reports, and data collected during an engagement as Client confidential information, use them only to perform the Services, and not publish or share them without Client's written consent, except as required by law. ATB will collect the minimum data needed, redact secrets in reports, protect stored data with reasonable security measures, keep raw tool output for up to 90 days after delivery and final reports for up to 24 months (or less on Client's written request), and then delete them.
- AI-Assisted Tools. ATB uses automated and AI-assisted tools to run tests and draft reports. A person reviews findings and reports before delivery, but AI-assisted output can contain errors, and that review does not change Sections 3 through 5.
- Badge. If Client opts in, ATB may issue a badge that states the site was "reviewed," never "secured," for example: "Reviewed by AroundTheBlock.Us on YYYY-MM-DD (badge expires YYYY-MM-DD)." The badge must link to ATB's verification page, which shows the review date, expiry, and a disclaimer that a review is not a guarantee of security. The badge expires 90 days after the review date unless renewed by a new review. ATB may revoke the badge at any time, including if Client misrepresents it, and Client will remove it on expiry or revocation and will not describe it as a certification or guarantee.
